SOUP THE MEXICAN WAY ~ VIA AUSTRALIA!

SOUP THE MEXICAN WAY ~ VIA AUSTRALIA!
Chicken and Lime Soup On my recent travels which included a pit stop in Houston, I tasted a lot of fresh, delicious Mexican food and this soup was inspired by one made by my dear friend Patti. Unable to source Hominy in Australia (not yet anyway) I played around with just fresh corn and I must say that...

CRANBERRY, MAPLE, PECAN, WILD OAT GRANOLA

CRANBERRY, MAPLE, PECAN, WILD OAT GRANOLA
Maple and Cranberry Toasted Crunch Muesli, Granola, Floor Sweepings, Cereal, Crumble…the names go on. My husband has a (dare I say it?) fetish for a crunchy start to his day…or for that matter would prefer a bowl of this with icy cold milk for dessert on most nights. Not for him the rich,...

‘OIL’ UNLOCK YOUR MASTER CHEF

‘OIL’ UNLOCK YOUR MASTER CHEF
Olive Oil Lemon Tart on right with Lime Mousse Pie and Chocolate Coconut Pie Not to put too fine a point on it, this was probably my finest hour! In fact, this recipe should really feature in a recipe Hall of Fame or something…no really! (If I don’t tell you how great it is, who will…all...

SPANISH, FLEMISH, YUMMISH FLAN.

SPANISH, FLEMISH, YUMMISH FLAN.
Steamed Spanish Flan Well kids, promised this on Twitter a week back already…how fast time flies when cooking your way towards a new cookbook. Never a dull food moment around here I can tell you. Luckily I have managed to eat some other peoples cooking lately, and have to say, it is a pleasure...

Always crazy about food since she fed the neighborhood kids that first mud pie, (seasoned with a good dash of vegemite, a childhood Aussie fave!!) she now has a tribe of her own that she happily feeds whenever she can get them to sit down long enough. Her culinary experience ranges from Bangers ‘N Mash in London long ago…(and far far away) to attempts at Chinese banquets for her University ‘roomies’ in the USA to more recent culinary holidays to Singapore and Vietnam and now several years as a food consultant, recipe developer/writer and food eater and dreamer. Obsession can be a wonderful thing! Ever resourceful and always hungry, and now the proud owner of a Thermomix, she can whip up a delicious storm in minutes, given half a chance. It is on her blogs that she shares her passion for food and the perfect cooking of it! Professionally she works to bring to two major Australian Appliance companies, the best use of said appliances in the form of recipes. Always up for a personal demonstration, plans are afoot for a cooking tour in 2009, so look out for a Thermomix class near you! She can now live without her microplane for the first time in a cooking lifetime, she still can’t live without her Thermomix and she certainly can’t live without her blog comments…so make her day and leave a note!
