Always crazy about food since she fed the neighborhood kids that first mud pie, (seasoned with a good dash of vegemite, a childhood Aussie fave!!) she now has a tribe of her own that she happily feeds whenever she can get them to sit down long enough. Her culinary experience ranges from Bangers ‘N Mash in London long ago…(and far far away) to attempts at Chinese banquets for her University ‘roomies’ in the USA to more recent culinary holidays to Singapore and Vietnam and now several years as a food consultant, recipe developer/writer and food eater and dreamer. Obsession can be a wonderful thing!
Tenina started cooking for a living back in 2006 when she was employed by the original Kleenmaid company as a cooking consultant, a job she loved and that quickly grew into this site. Clients were always requesting her fresh and original recipes and thus Tenina.com was born. Today through this site, she still provides Kleenmaid clients around Australia, her time honored recipes as well as constantly keeping them abreast of food trends and ideas that become childs play with the aid of the fabulous Kleenmaid appliances that grace her kitchen!
Tenina also worked as the First Ever, Official Recipe Developer for Thermomix Australia, a job which certainly kept her out of mischief for three fun and fabulous years. She also did a lot of work for the Thermomix parent company Vorwerk International, which was tough, because she had to make several trips to Europe each year, but someone had to do it! She now utilises several thermo mixers that have started to appear in the Aussie market including the fabulous professional Thermo Mixer, the Hot Mix Pro! You will start to see more and more of her recipes using this advanced commercial Thermo Mixer on this site soon. Tenina is fast becoming the premium go to source for all thermal blending expertise and of course fresh and easy recipes.
In her spare time she is a Dairy Judge, (yoghurt, ice-cream, milks, creams and cheeses) at the Royal Perth Show, the proud owner of a beehive, herb garden, two or three fruit trees, passionate Slow Food member, truffle eater, dark chocolate afficionado and food tourist as she travels around Australia presenting cooking classes. She is also the Australian and New Zealand distributor of a fantastic brewed cocoa beverage, Crio Bru, which is taking the country by storm! In her spare time she dreams of laying on beaches in far away places, having perfect, sustainable food delivered to her by good looking younger men!
She has recently added a wonderful best selling book with over 100 recipes and beautiful photography to her shopping cart called For Foods Sake. Hailed by Thermomix users worldwide as the ‘best thermomix cookbook yet’, she is already working on her next project, in between appearances and cooking classes that now take up her once leisurely cooking days!
