Crio Bru and Heilala Vanilla Milk Shake
I love getting little foodie pressies in the mail and recently Heilala Vanilla sent me a huge bottle of their wonderful Vanilla Bean Syrup to try out. AMAZING! Such a ‘whack it in your face’ hit of vanilla sweetness that I found myself overdosing...
Berry Good Smoothie
A big part of the pleasure of doing what I do is that lots of lovely people send me yummy stuff to try…and this recipe is all about some superfood Acai Berry Blend powder that was sent to me by the amazing Aussie company, Nutra Organics. (As well as some other goodies like Maca...
Kaffir Lime Panna Cotta pic by JulieO from FT
Well kids, its not often that I write something other than a recipe. Recipes are simple, pretty well a done deal once they have hit my table and/or stomach, and a no brainer…for me at least.
But in the scheme of things, there are a few constants...
Salted Caramel Frozen Crio Bru.
We finally had a few hot days in a row…don’t know about you, but I am a summer person and I just love an icy drink on a hot day. With the recent public holiday, we had the first day of the season on the boat. We headed down the Swan River and out and around to the...
Spiced Chai Crio Bru
Quick, delicious and just a little bit naughty, try this on for size on a cold winter’s day. You can store the premade syrup in the fridge, then simply add it to hot milk on demand…on demand…sounds like my house…or maybe even this blog?? Yes, I am talking to you!

Dairy Free, Soy Free, Sugar Free, banana choc milk
Phew! With a title like that you may be thinking; Is it flavour free as well?? That would have been my thought exactly…but thanks to the brilliance of Thermal blenders everywhere, the answer to that question is NO! Ever since my new found love for...
Horchata
Drinkies anyone??? This drink is rumored to be a cure for a hangover and is frequently served at breakfast time. Even though the drink has a milky appearance it is completely dairy-free. It is Mexican in origin and is supposed to be sweet, but if you wish to have it with less sugar, you can...
Pink Lime-Ade
Well I am to be a grandmother in just a few weeks…not surprisingly this is both amazing and wonderful! I have decided however to be called ‘Grandy’ not Nanna, not Nan, not Grandma, not Granny. I have been told that this is not up to me, but I figure, a slap or two and the kid will...
Arabian Lemonade
This was one of my fave pictures ever taken when I worked at Thermomix in Australia. It was taken in my home, and this recipe appeared in the Calendar (can’t remember which one!) We shot the pics with the very talented Matt O’Donohue from Abstract Gourmet, you should really check...
Ginger and Lemongrass Lemonade
First Thai Thai Again class is on tonight, and it is colder than a witches….well, you know the rest of that one! This is not ‘strickly’ Thai of course, but with the lemon grass and ginger I am going to stretch it, and this is going up first as our cooking class guests...

Always crazy about food since she fed the neighborhood kids that first mud pie, (seasoned with a good dash of vegemite, a childhood Aussie fave!!) she now has a tribe of her own that she happily feeds whenever she can get them to sit down long enough. Her culinary experience ranges from Bangers ‘N Mash in London long ago…(and far far away) to attempts at Chinese banquets for her University ‘roomies’ in the USA to more recent culinary holidays to Singapore and Vietnam and now several years as a food consultant, recipe developer/writer and food eater and dreamer. Obsession can be a wonderful thing!
Ever resourceful and always hungry, and now the proud owner of a Thermomix, she can whip up a delicious storm in minutes, given half a chance. It is on her blogs that she shares her passion for food and the perfect cooking of it!
Professionally she works to bring to two major Australian Appliance companies, the best use of said appliances in the form of recipes. Always up for a personal demonstration, plans are afoot for a cooking tour in 2009, so look out for a Thermomix class near you! She can now live without her microplane for the first time in a cooking lifetime, she still can’t live without her Thermomix and she certainly can’t live without her blog comments…so make her day and leave a note!
