Kaffir Lime Panna Cotta pic by JulieO from FT
Well kids, its not often that I write something other than a recipe. Recipes are simple, pretty well a done deal once they have hit my table and/or stomach, and a no brainer…for me at least.
But in the scheme of things, there are a few constants...
Caramelised White Chocolate Bark
Well if like the rest of Australia you have been watching MasterChef this year, you will have seen a finale attempt at Caramelised White chocolate that was part of an ice cream (now there’s an idea!! Watch this space.)…let me tell you…I have been doing this for...
Choc Molten Pots uncookedOozing Choc Molten Puddingsssss
Oozing Choc Molten Puddingsssss
Not kidding…these have truffles in the center…so if you are on a diet, don’t read any further. You will just be tormenting yourself. Yes, just call me the devil.
You don’t have to make the truffles, but...
Saffron, Chilli Lime, and Olive Citrus Salts
There are a few things that I need in my kitchen, it goes without saying, the Thermomix. It goes without saying, hot water (clean freak) and it goes without saying, Umami…but salt? Nay, even flavored salt? Well yes folks, you heard it here first; I now...
Butterscotch Self Saucing Pudding
Well I’m not going to lie…I was deeply crushed. I spend a lot of time cooking for my ungrateful bunch of kids who all think they’re Matt Preston incarnate, and frequently give me unwanted feedback…as if they know anything! They think Macca’s is...
THAT cake and me!
Yes folks, this represents three days of my life I’ll never get back! Really! I cannot imagine managing to put up anything close to what this is, in just 4 hours as the Master Chef contestants did….I have a healthy new respect for those guys. And as for my new mate Adriano,...
Beef Kofta with Rosemary Sprigs
Well today was the big day…I had a photo shoot for an ad that will appear in the all new Master Chef Magazine in my kitchen…exciting! I did dream all night long about styling the dish I had planned for a side bar pic, but still sporting a flu (will it ever...
Georgie and me
Chocolate Almond Croissant
Well its official, George is a really nice Master Chef! I had the privilege of feeding him breakfast last Friday and although I have put this recipe up here before (in the deep dark recessed archives somewhere!), I persuaded myself that it was almost...
Olive Oil Lemon Tart on right with Lime Mousse Pie and Chocolate Coconut Pie
Not to put too fine a point on it, this was probably my finest hour! In fact, this recipe should really feature in a recipe Hall of Fame or something…no really! (If I don’t tell you how great it is, who will…all...
Now I know a lot of people think I talk drizzle, but on this occasion, I’m not referring to a weather pattern, a grumpy child or something you should really see a doctor about, but those amazing little additions to certain dishes that just seem to add pizazz and a little flair. Have you ever...
Tenina Hmmn, liking the sound of a licorice all sort jelly…great idea....

Always crazy about food since she fed the neighborhood kids that first mud pie, (seasoned with a good dash of vegemite, a childhood Aussie fave!!) she now has a tribe of her own that she happily feeds whenever she can get them to sit down long enough. Her culinary experience ranges from Bangers ‘N Mash in London long ago…(and far far away) to attempts at Chinese banquets for her University ‘roomies’ in the USA to more recent culinary holidays to Singapore and Vietnam and now several years as a food consultant, recipe developer/writer and food eater and dreamer. Obsession can be a wonderful thing!
Ever resourceful and always hungry, and now the proud owner of a Thermomix, she can whip up a delicious storm in minutes, given half a chance. It is on her blogs that she shares her passion for food and the perfect cooking of it!
Professionally she works to bring to two major Australian Appliance companies, the best use of said appliances in the form of recipes. Always up for a personal demonstration, plans are afoot for a cooking tour in 2009, so look out for a Thermomix class near you! She can now live without her microplane for the first time in a cooking lifetime, she still can’t live without her Thermomix and she certainly can’t live without her blog comments…so make her day and leave a note!
