Apple and Pear Pie
In little ole Perth we have just had the hottest April on record or something, so Autumn and comfort foods do seem a long way away…but I was craving an apple pie and although I have been blogging for a really long time…(long time!!) I have never created an apple pie recipe. So...
Kaffir Lime Panna Cotta pic by JulieO from FT
Well kids, its not often that I write something other than a recipe. Recipes are simple, pretty well a done deal once they have hit my table and/or stomach, and a no brainer…for me at least.
But in the scheme of things, there are a few constants...
Check the vanilla bean seeds….oh yes!
A pie defined is usually a pastry crust filled with some sort of fruit, meat, cheese or vegetable filling and topped with either another crust, or some cream…or not! As is the case with most definitions…there are exceptions to every rule and if you look at...
All Lemon, Classic Lemon Tart
It is no secret I love all things lemon…I even have a whole Pinterest board devoted to Lemon. AND, this pic will end up on there naturally….
As I literally scramble for the last few days before heading north (USA north!!) for nearly a month, I was trying to feel the...
Crio Bru Ganache Banana Tart
I keep saying it, this blog should have been called ‘Tarts R Us’, but maybe that could just be the title of my next book?? Voting on that will close in blog comments below…have your say today!
This is a combo of a few tried and true recipes that I threw together...
Chicken Pot Pie
This recipe is a conversion request…and I must say, well received in this household. The pastry is my recipe and the idea of puff on the top as well…love it! Easy and delicious, watch this space, pretty sure this will show up on Spin A Dinner the thermomix app of all apps it would...
Lime and Raspberry Flan
Seriously I cannot go past the combo of Lime and Raspberries. Be it a dessert or a drink, count me in. My darling sis has a gorgeous lime tree that is laden with fruit right now, so lucky me! I get the fruits of her hard labours….of course she gets a little in return, like...
Spiced Plum and Almond Pastry, with Crio Bru….breakfast!
I am not a big breakfast person…I can go a smoothie, but not much more than that. I enjoy my greatest, healthiest habit more now than ever, as it staves off the mid morning hunger pangs I used to get when drinking a smoothie for breakfast....
Fontina Asparagus Tart
Quick lunch? Late Breakfast? Lazy Sunday Brunch? This is a winner on all scores….so whip it up, and you may find you will be doing similar things again and again. (Deeply impressive to the eaters….as expressed to me this weekend!) I had it cooked, and on the table in less...
Almond Peach and Apricot Tart
You may have noticed…I have been putting up a lot of recipes based on the Dried Apricot Preserves. Its just that I am down to two kids at home and I have so much of the stuff, I need it out of the fridge…to make room for new future creations. No one is complaining...
Tenina Hmmn, liking the sound of a licorice all sort jelly…great idea....

Always crazy about food since she fed the neighborhood kids that first mud pie, (seasoned with a good dash of vegemite, a childhood Aussie fave!!) she now has a tribe of her own that she happily feeds whenever she can get them to sit down long enough. Her culinary experience ranges from Bangers ‘N Mash in London long ago…(and far far away) to attempts at Chinese banquets for her University ‘roomies’ in the USA to more recent culinary holidays to Singapore and Vietnam and now several years as a food consultant, recipe developer/writer and food eater and dreamer. Obsession can be a wonderful thing!
Ever resourceful and always hungry, and now the proud owner of a Thermomix, she can whip up a delicious storm in minutes, given half a chance. It is on her blogs that she shares her passion for food and the perfect cooking of it!
Professionally she works to bring to two major Australian Appliance companies, the best use of said appliances in the form of recipes. Always up for a personal demonstration, plans are afoot for a cooking tour in 2009, so look out for a Thermomix class near you! She can now live without her microplane for the first time in a cooking lifetime, she still can’t live without her Thermomix and she certainly can’t live without her blog comments…so make her day and leave a note!
