NO STEAM OVEN, NO THERMOMIX?

Well there must be someone out there without one!!! SO how can you cook these amazing recipes without a Steam Oven. Well basically you make a steam oven out of your own oven by using a ‘bain maire’ or a dish of water in the bottom of the oven, and a cooler oven temperature than normal.

Steam point is 100 degrees Centigrade (around 212 F)…so using that as a guide, Place around 1 litre of water in a roasting dish, the food either on the rack above or actually in the water turning it into a ‘bath’! This will effectively result in a Steam Oven! You may need to experiment with temperatures according to the accuracy of your own oven, as all ovens are not made equal.

Now for the more serious issue of not having a Thermomix….what can I say?? GO AND BUY ONE! If it’s good enough for MasterChef, it’s good enough for you. (Woops, did I think that or say it out loud?? ) There are many of the top chefs and restaurants around Australia (nay, the globe!) who swear by their Thermomix as part of their kitchen arsenal…I wholeheartedly agree and so will you once you get your hands on one. Call Thermomix head office (in Australia) tell them I sent you and ask for a demo or the nearest cooking class in your area. I can PROMISE you, you will not be disappointed! Oh, and BTW, you can steam in the damn thing as well! How’s that for reducing kitchen appliances!

Please let me know how it all goes.
