Check out the crust!
Well, this was a revelation: I had seen a recipe for this in a Thermomix publication, (which I still cannot find!) but never tried it. Then of course with my recent travels to the beautiful part of Europe from which the Flammkuchen originates, how could I not try it? I LOVED it…love...
Baked Donuts with Filling
Look I know it’s only June, but June is the month when all good recipe developers mind’s turn to Christmas…and yes, this is sort of a Christmas recipe and so leave it until then if you want to, but if not? Knock yourself out and call it Christmas in July, a bit...
Soft Buttermilk Rolls
With all my new found Asian recipe experience, you would think that rolls would be the last thing on my list for this site….but truly, the most beautiful bread rolls I have ever eaten were prepared during my Chinese journey…and I had to share this method, if not the ingredients....
Roasted Banana Spelt Bread
As you all know (if you are regular visitors to my site dearest readers!) I am a lover of all things bread, and this post is an homage to that. I have collected over the years that I have been slogging away at this blog, several recipes that utilise my love of bread. There...
Roasted Wheat and Honey Loaf
Slice 'o' Roasted Wheat and Honey Loaf
I have been toying with the idea of roasting wheat for a while now, based on the reality that applying heat to most nuts and other grains puts their flavour into a whole new category!
SO, this is just a thought…really...
Is it Brioche? Or Pulla?
Apparently Pulla is Finland’s answer to Brioche, in a braid…and based on this delicately fragranced butter rich bread, I would say they did one better…(Are the Norse Gods listening?) This version, sporting saffron and cardamom, is a beautiful colour and the...
Creamy Asparagus Soup with extras!
Shhhh, don’t tell anyone…but I am working on a little project on the side…only in my spare time of course! With wintery mornings being the go down under, (particularly in Perth it would appear) I thought a heart warming soup would therefore go a long...
Buttering the Dough
Oven Ready Scrolls
Ready to Eat
I am hoping that although a pedestrian recipe, this will appease those who seem to call the office regarding said Cheesey Mite Scrolls…and whilst I am all for Vegemite (used to eat it by the spoonful in my wasted youth) on this occasion I omitted...
We have been on a bit of a pizza kick at work. I am happy to say I have never been off my pizza kick. Always loved it, always will. I have a fantastic pizza stone that is unrivalled. It is ceramic with tunnels running from front to back and seems to produce a superior product. (Or maybe I’m just...
Fig Walnut and Olive Ciabatta
I have been planning this loaf for a while, had a fail and this is the new and improved version. It is in fact a ciabatta loaf with the optional addition of toasted walnuts, Kalamata olives and dried figs. Similar to Turkish bread, Ciabatta requires a sponge starter, which...

Always crazy about food since she fed the neighborhood kids that first mud pie, (seasoned with a good dash of vegemite, a childhood Aussie fave!!) she now has a tribe of her own that she happily feeds whenever she can get them to sit down long enough. Her culinary experience ranges from Bangers ‘N Mash in London long ago…(and far far away) to attempts at Chinese banquets for her University ‘roomies’ in the USA to more recent culinary holidays to Singapore and Vietnam and now several years as a food consultant, recipe developer/writer and food eater and dreamer. Obsession can be a wonderful thing!
Ever resourceful and always hungry, and now the proud owner of a Thermomix, she can whip up a delicious storm in minutes, given half a chance. It is on her blogs that she shares her passion for food and the perfect cooking of it!
Professionally she works to bring to two major Australian Appliance companies, the best use of said appliances in the form of recipes. Always up for a personal demonstration, plans are afoot for a cooking tour in 2009, so look out for a Thermomix class near you! She can now live without her microplane for the first time in a cooking lifetime, she still can’t live without her Thermomix and she certainly can’t live without her blog comments…so make her day and leave a note!
