Fire Cider Tonic
WOW, they don't call it Fire Cider for nothing. There are so many recipes for this kind of tonic floating around, but this is my version. It is bright and cheerful looking in the jar, but don't be fooled, this can strip paint! Be very careful administering it to children. We are using around 2 teaspoons to a glass of sparkling water. You can also add boiling water to make a tea if desired which would be very soothing if you are feeling a bit under the weather. It is full of immunity boosting goodness and no bugs can stand up to the heat of this drink! We stand behind that claim! I've also been told on good authority that it makes a real kicker of a cocktail...go figure!
Stay well my lovelies...there are no bugs on you this year!

- 20 Grams fresh ginger roughly chopped
- 20 Grams fresh turmeric roughly chopped
- 1 Pineapple-fresh peeled, cored and diced
- 1 Orange, sliced thinly
- 1 Lemon, sliced thinly
- 3 Fresh jalapenos, halved lengthways
- 750 Milliliters apple cider vinegar
- filtered water as needed
Place ginger, turmeric and half the pineapple into the Thermomix bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 6. Pour into a 2 litre glass jar.
In the jar, add the orange, lemon, jalapenos and remaining pineapple, then top with apple cider vinegar and water. Make sure you place a piece of baking paper on top of the jar opening before closing with a metal lid. This stuff is strong!
Keep refrigerated and serve heavily diluted to taste with sparkling water or hot water to create a tea.
