Neapolitan Ice Cream Bombes

Serves 10 Prep Time 60 minutes   Rated:

Neapolitan ice-cream is such a thing of my childhood and yet everyone wanted the chocolate strip from the commercial variety, are you with me? It was inevitable that sooner of later this idea had to show up and it is pretty well just an idea rather than a recipe, as you do have to make 3 batches of different ice-cream to get the result. BUT HOW fun are they?

They melted fast, as you can see, so I would just serve them in the moulds or go all out and do the stripey version but horizontally, which means freezing each layer separately as described, before proceeding with the next layer and so on!

Have fun! Still not bubblegum flavour as Maureen has requested many, many years ago, but who knows...that could be next!

Do

1

Using small dariole moulds, layer each flavour of ice cream into the bottom of the mould.

2

Smooth the surface well, cleaning the mould with a paper towel so that you get a clean look when they come out.

3

Place in the freezer for a minimum of 20 minutes between each layer.

4

You can of course just make a big container of Neapolitan ice cream if you prefer using the same method. You will have more than enough for 2 Tovolo containers which are your friend when it comes to ice cream making.
