Conventional Method: Add shea butter, coconut oil and carrier oil to a glass bowl and heat until completely melted using a) or b) method. a) Double boiler method – place bowl on a pot of gently simmering water and stir frequently. b) Microwave method – heat in short bursts on low, stopping and stirring frequently.
Sit on bench to cool and add essential oils. Stir until combined.
Place bowl in fridge until almost solidified. It will need to feel thick and firm when touched.
Using a spatula, scrape cream away from the sides of the bowl and use a hand or electric beater to whip until opaque, white and fluffy.
Scoop into a container or jar.
Thermomix Method: Add shea butter, coconut oil and carrier oil to TM bowl and melt 4-5 min/70ºC/speed 1-2, until completely melted.
Allow to rest until cool, then add essential oils. Mix for 10-15 sec/speed 3 until combined.
Place bowl in fridge until almost solidified. It will need to feel thick and firm when touched.
Using a spatula, scrape cream away from the sides of the bowl then whip 30-40 sec/speed 5 or until opaque, white and fluffy.
Scoop into a container or jar.
