A delicious little side dish of rice never goes astray on a weeknight and this is fresh and quick and easy to prepare. The kids will even love it, we are sure. So don't settle for ordinary steamed rice, go yellow! A little Caribbean, maybe Jamaican, may Hawaiian. Let's just say Pacific Rim Rice! But it still pairs well with a mild or sweet curry.

- 1 Litre water, for steaming
- 200 Grams basmati rice
- 1 Pinch saffron
- 1/2 Teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 Tin black beans drained
- 2 cloves garlic finely diced
- 1/4 red onion finely diced
- 1 Green Chilli(es) finely diced
- Pinches pink salt flakes BUY
Place 1 litre of water in the Thermomix bowl. Place rice in the basket and top with saffron and turmeric. Give it a little stir. Steam 15 min/100°C/speed 4 with spatter guard in place.
Pour rice into Thermoserver, with beans, garlic, onion, chilli and salt. Stir to combine. Drizzle with a little EVOO just prior to serving.
