We all knead more Dough!

We all knead more Dough!

“All sorrows are less with bread. ” ― Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

I was in Dublin this year at the Drop HQ and we filmed a few tips, based on questions from you. This is just one of them. (Well technically three tips, but for one problem!)

I do love bread in all its forms, but only when it is either homemade or I know it has good provenance. Nothing less!

I am fascinated by the yeast process. There is yeast in and on almost everything around us, which is why sourdough is a thing. I find it completely amazing.

The other amazing thing about bread making in a Thermo is that you get a knead in 3 minutes or less that is only duplicated by literally 20 minutes of full on hard labour if done by hand. WOW.

SO getting your dough out of the Thermomix, is pretty simple when you have these tricks up your proverbial rolled up sleeve.

ONE: Tip the bowl upside down onto a breadmat or floured surface and twist the spindle that is the base of the blade with your hand until you feel the dough drop away.

TWO: Use a wet spatula to scrape out the bowl. Using a wet spatula is much more effective than using a dry one.

THREE: If both of those tricks don't work, chuck a spoonful of flour into the bowl and bring the blade up to speed 10 and back down again very quickly. The flour will act like a little magnet and all the excess or damp dough will bead and be easy to remove!

You read it here first folks...
