I have a friend, a very slim friend, who works out twice a day most days, drinks Crio Bru like it is going out of style for its appetite supressant qualities, and always tells me I need to do a low carb Thermomix cookbook…(any takers on that idea??) AND no, my very slim friend is not my inner thin person! She is a real person! She visits often, and I try to feed her my forbidden carb treats, of which there are a-plenty, as you may know by now! She told me about konjac pasta or Shirataki Noodles as they are known in Japanese cuisine…so in a quest for some low carb-ness on here, I did this recipe for lunch with such speed one day, that I just had to share it.
Delicious, speedy, AND low carb? Is it possible? Apparently yes!
Go and read up a little on Konjac here, which is what the branded ‘slim pasta’ is made from; there are some possible side effects to over indulgence, that may have you losing more weight than you intended as they are very high in fibre. BUT the good things about it are; low carb, gluten free, filling, zero calories, easy to prepare and delicious in that they take on any flavour you throw at them.
Available in Western Australia at the always stocked Weigh N Pay, you can also find them in supermarkets around the country, marketed as ‘Slim Pasta’. They come wet, in a ready to serve pack.
