Best Thermomix Dinners for Kids

Getting kids to eat their vegetables, or even just plain old eating at all, can often feel like a battle, but it doesn't have to be. With a little creativity and some delicious recipes, you can turn these nutritious powerhouses into meals that your children will actually look forward to. From vibrant veggie-packed pasta to colorful, fun-shaped salads, there are countless ways to incorporate vegetables into kid-friendly dishes that are both healthy and tasty. In this article, we'll explore the best meals using vegetables for kids, ensuring that your little ones get the nutrients they need without any fuss. I am not a huge fan of hiding veggies in meals that you feed the kids, but that is sometimes the only option, as we have shown you in some of these recipes here!

Spaghetti Bolognaise is a kid friendly favourite the world over and the it is super easy to add hidden veggies into the sauce. Blitz carrot, zucchini, pumpkin, corn, into the early stages of the recipe and they will never know, but you will!

Add extra goodness to your burger patties by including black beans or chickpeas. Grated carrot and beetroot also work really well in burger patties. Picky eaters no more!

Generally speaking, most kids love pasta, hot or cold, so adding loads of veggies, and some great mayonnaise to cooked pasta, then perhaps hard boiled eggs or their favourite lunch meat, will definitely get them on board. Clean plates all round. Get them to help you assemble the ingredients and that also may get them adding more things you might have imagined! Healthy kids dinners can be easier with their help.

Is there a kid alive who doesn't like roast chicken? Stick with the good ole favourites from your own childhood to get your own kids approved meals. Regular rotation never hurt anyone...once a week is not too often for roast chicken in my book!

This recipe is a winner, you can cut back on the spicy if you wish, and you can add in just about anything the kids love. It is so fast and mum friendly, easy weeknight dinner solved! It is also super cheap, no protein included, but use your leftover roast chicken, or meat from last nights BBQ!

Fakeaway: get these on your list and little hands can help! When they want chicken nuggets, make sure you have some of these in the freezer. The recipe makes a ton and they are full of protein. No nasties, gluten free, I hope that is ticking some kid friendly boxes for you. Serve with dips, salad or even homemade oven fries.

When there is bread involved you can usually rely on the picky eaters to love it. So gozleme flat breads are an easy go to. Mix up your dough, allow it to prove whilst you cook some sort of filling, (don't just rely on the recipe linked above, go all out veggie chopped finely with loads of cheese for flavour and stickability!) Then fry away. You really cannot go wrong with fried bread after all! It is kind of fun as well.

Here we go again with fried bread as a bit of a theme, but I was going to suggest again that getting the kids involved usually works wonders for them eating it all up! We grew quite the veggie garden when my kids were at home and it was amazing what they would actually eat if they had grown it or picked it or cooked it themselves. So as painful as it maybe to involve the kids in the cooking process (don't lick the blades my cherubs) it will mean they are far more invested in at least trying the meal.

Risotto is always a winner and there are so many ways to shake it all up by adding anything the kids love to eat already. Serve with sausages if that works! Add roasted pumpkin, capsicum or mushrooms, fresh spinach leaves, peas, a poached egg. The sky is the limit!

Last but not least, stress less about it all. If they are hungry and the food is good and in front of them, they will eat it. I notice with my grandkids that as they have grown older they have been willing to taste more things even if they thought they didn't like them initially. It doesn't (shouldn't) be a point of family meal time stress. Meals are about way more than just the food. Sitting and being together during a meal is almost as important as the nutrition you are trying to get them to swallow!

Happy Mixing
