Beef & Bacon Burgers

How simple are these, and yet, so perfect. Teamed with Perfect Burger Buns and all of our other suggested home-made condiments you will be setting up a build-your-own burger bar in no time.

TASTE:

Serve with Perfect Burger Buns, Sweet Pickle Relish, Yellow Mustard, and/or Smoky Barbecue Sauce. Of course, cheese, lettuce and tomato should get a look-in as well. If you are truly Australian, don't forget the beetroot!

Need

  • 250–300 Grams bacon, including fat, rind removed, chopped roughly
  • 1 Teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • black pepper Freshly ground, to taste
  • 1 eggs (optional but recommended if using low-fat mince)
  • 750 Grams beef mince

Place bacon into the Thermomix bowl and chop 5 seconds/speed 5. Scrape down sides of the bowl and if any large pieces remain chop for a further 2 seconds/speed 5.

In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients including chopped bacon and mix together thoroughly with your hands.

Form into burger patties (the patties will shrink when cooked so make them slightly larger than you wish them to be once cooked) and fry in a frying pan or on the barbecue until caramelised and cooked through.
