Five Great Recipes to Make Ahead this Christmas

Five Great Recipes to Make Ahead this Christmas

"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveller, thousands of miles away, back to his own fireside and his quiet home!" – Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers

Here are five fantastic make-ahead Thermomix recipes to keep your Christmas season stress-free and delicious!

1. Thermomix Christmas Puddings

Why they're great: These rich, fruity puddings are even better when made in advance, as the flavours deepen over time. Steamed in the Thermomix, let them cool, and store in an airtight container. Simply reheat on Christmas Day!

Make-ahead tip: Prepare up to a month in advance and store it in a cool, dark place.

2. Traditional Mince Pies

Why it's great: The Thermomix makes quick work of the buttery pastry and fruit mince filling. You can make these little treats ahead and freeze them.

Make-ahead tip: Prepare and freeze unbaked. When you're ready to serve, pop them straight from the freezer into the oven for freshly baked, festive pies.

3. Honey-Glazed Ham

Why it's great: Use the Thermomix to whip up a delicious honey glaze with cloves, mustard, and brown sugar. Alternatively check out all of our glazing suggestions in this amazing article about just glazing...who knew we were so on point? (We we did...but now you do too!) Glaze and cook your ham ahead, then refrigerate it.

Make-ahead tip: Cook the ham a day or two before Christmas, slice it, and serve cold or warmed up. It makes excellent leftovers for sandwiches too!

4. Thermomix Spicy Peach Relish

Why it's great: This fruity, peachy relish pairs wonderfully with ham, turkey, or cheese, and it only improves with time.

Make-ahead tip: Prepare up to a month in advance and store it in sterilised jars in the fridge. It’s also a lovely homemade gift idea!

5. Brandy Cream Sauce (Custard)

Why it's great: Silky smooth and made in minutes with the Thermomix, this custard is perfect for pairing with Christmas pudding, pies, or cakes.

Make-ahead tip: Prepare it a day or two before, let it cool, and refrigerate in an airtight container. Gently reheat on the stovetop or in the Thermomix before serving.

With these make-ahead recipes, your Christmas will be as smooth and joyful as the meals you’re sharing!
