Fruity Pear Mince

Makes 3 small jars

Gifts away...this is the perfect pressie for the foodie in your life. It is so fragrant and Christmassy, you will just love making it. With a better fragrance than any Christmas candle you will transform your entire home into a Christmas workshop when you make this lovely fruity mince. It is awesome used in all sorts of ways, think tarts, with little marzipan stars (see our new printed version of Merry Christmix) Fruity Shortbread Slice, on ice cream, stirred through custard...yum.

I am pretty sure you will put this on your Christmas menu year after year...(hope you’re using that amazing Menu Builder feature!!) Don’t say I never give you anything!!

Need

  • Zest 1 orange
  • 750 g pears, peeled, cored and quartered
  • 250 g sugar
  • 100 g craisins
  • 130 g currants
  • 50 g glace ginger, chopped
  • 60 g flaked almonds
  • Juice 1 lemon
  • Juice 1 orange
  • 1 tsp each ground cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamon
  • 2 tbsp brandy (optional)

Do

1  

Place orange zest into TM bowl and chop 10 sec/speed 7.

Add pears and sugar and chop 3 sec/speed 6.

Add remaining ingredients except brandy and cook 35 min/Varoma/Reverse/speed 1. Cool slightly, stir brandy through and set aside until ready to use.

Store in sterilised jars in the fridge until use.
