Rice Crispy Shapes
In the USA, 'Rice Crispy Treats' are a popular no-bake 'slice' made by combining crispy rice cereal (rice bubbles in Australia) with melted marshmallows and butter. The mixture is pressed into a pan, allowed to set, and then cut into bars or shapes. Known for their chewy, crunchy texture and sweet flavor, these treats are often enjoyed as a nostalgic snack and are popular at gatherings, bake sales, and as a fun homemade dessert for kids and adults alike. They often are made around Halloween, or Christmas times in appropriate to the season shapes and yes, we have a plan with that idea, stay tuned!
We loved playing around with this mixture and we did try it with homemade marshmallow, but we ended up returning to the purchased variety for ease and success of the recipe. So here you go...let your imagination run wild and make sure you get the kids involved. Too fun.
