Make sure not to over do the basil. You want strawberry jam with a little basil, not basil jam with a little strawberry! You cannot substitute the fresh basil leaves with dried. And given the current craziness about the Va Va Voom Vanilla Strawberry Jam, I thought it was time you realised I am not a one trick pony! Need

  • 400 Grams strawberries
  • 200 Grams sugar
  • 5-6 leaves of fresh basil
  • 1 green apple, quartered (including pips and skin)

Do

Place all ingredients into Thermomix bowl and chop 2 sec/speed 6.

Cook 60 min/100°C/speed 1/MC off and with the simmering basket on top of the bowl to prevent spattering.

Check consistency by placing a drop of jam on a cold china plate. If it wrinkles when pushed it is ready.

Add more cooking time if required.

5  

Pour into hot glass jars and seal.
