You know that almond and chocolate is a match made in heaven right? Much like chocolate and me…or almond and me for that matter. I was craving delicious, decadent and totally off the charts naughty one Sunday afternoon…and this is what ended up happening. It’s a disease…or a talent, not sure which! But I am sure you will love it.

- 200 g chocolate wafer biscuits, (cookies)
- 50 g butter
- 1 Batch marzipan, homemade Pistachio Marzipan Christmas Trees
- 300 g dark chocolate
- 150 g cream
- 1 tbsp Vanilla - Bean Paste Heilala Vanilla Bean Paste BUY
- Pinch Pink Salt Flakes pink salt flakes BUY
- Strawberries to garnish
Place biscuits (cookies) and butter into Thermo bowl and blend 20 sec/speed 8. Press into a 23cm flan tin with removable base and refrigerate while you make the marzipan.
Preheat oven to 160℃. Make the marzipan without the pistachios and replacing with almonds instead. Press into the biscuit base.
Bake 20 minutes until marzipan is fragrant and golden. Cool completely.
To make ganache, place all remaining ingredients and melt 3 min/50℃/speed 1.
Spread on top of marzipan and allow to set completely before garnishing with fresh strawberries.
