Crispy Fried Chilli Sugar Wontons

A little snacky thing that can be whipped up at a moments notice, but completely delish with our Black Sticky Rice Ice Cream Sundae.

This recipe was created a long time ago but never really written down because, well, you can see, it is pretty self explanatory. But as we are getting all fancy on here these days, and trying to be truly the site you hit first for #recipesthatwork we thought we would go to the trouble of taking a pic and putting it up here. I have to say, eating these on their own is a little too easy. They are good.

They are better with our amazing Black Sticky Rice Ice Cream Sundaes of course. For which they were originally created. Also fab with our amazing Mango Sticky Rice...adding a bit of texture.

Hope you munch on them often...and then what about other flavours?? Yep, always going lateral on flavour over here in the test kitchen.

Need

Do

1

Place the sugar, salt and chilli flakes into the Thermomix bowl and mill 5 sec/speed 5. You need a bit of texture.

2

Heat a small amount of EVOO in a frying pan until 170°C approx. Fry a couple of wonton wrappers at a time, draining on paper towels.

3

Whilst still hot, toss through the sugar mixture. Cool. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until use. You can make these well in advance of needing them.
