Homemade Twix Bars

Makes approximately 20 bars Prep Time 30 minutes   Cook Time Unknown  Rated:

Everything you love about a Twix bar, crumbly buttery shortbread, luscious chewy caramel and a thick layer of silky chocolate.

If you've ever wished your favourite chocolate bar tasted even better, this Homemade Twix Bar recipe is about to make your day. Made with a rich buttery shortbread base, a soft golden caramel filling and finished with a generous layer of chocolate, these bars deliver all the nostalgia of the original with a homemade upgrade. I have had this on my radar for literally ages, and we finally did it, thanks to the TM7 Browning feature, making the toffee super easy for literally anyone.

Perfect for lunchboxes, afternoon tea, edible gifts or simply keeping hidden in the fridge for those chocolate emergencies, they're surprisingly easy to make and infinitely more satisfying than anything you'll unwrap from the supermarket. One bite and you'll understand why homemade always wins. We did a couple of versions, the picture was the first version, fully dipped in chocolate, but we ended up only layering the chocolate for the video, which tbh ends up looking like a caramel slice, so not sure which way you want to go, I think dipped is best.

Serving Suggestions & Pairings

Serve chilled for a firmer caramel and satisfying snap of chocolate.

Enjoy with a freshly brewed espresso or flat white to balance the sweetness.

Pair with a scoop of vanilla bean or salted caramel ice cream for an indulgent dessert.

Add to a dessert grazing board alongside brownies, rocky road and chocolate truffles.

Package into gift boxes for Christmas, birthdays or homemade foodie gifts.

Drizzle with melted white chocolate and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for an elegant finish.

Serve with fresh strawberries or raspberries to add a tart contrast to the rich caramel and chocolate.

Cut into bite-sized pieces for dessert buffets, high teas or special celebrations.
