Cookie Dough Ice Cream
The most distinctive feature of cookie dough ice cream is the inclusion of small chunks or pieces of raw cookie dough scattered throughout the ice cream. The cookie dough is made from ingredients similar to those used in traditional cookie recipes: butter, sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips. Some variations may also include other mix-ins, like peanut butter chips or nuts, to add extra flavor and texture.
It's important to note that the cookie dough used in ice cream recipes is specifically formulated to be safe for consumption without baking. We omit or replace certain ingredients found in traditional cookie dough recipes that could pose health risks when consumed raw, such as eggs. Cookie dough ice cream provides the same nostalgic flavor of cookie dough without the need to bake cookies first and we all know how much we love licking the bowl when cookies are happening...
