Turmeric is seriously an amazing ingredient, it tastes great, it is vibrant in colour, it is very versatile in food, and it has so many health giving properties that I feel I must list a few right here!
- Natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent, useful in disinfecting cuts and burns
- Combined with cauliflower, it has shown to prevent prostate cancer and stop the growth of existing prostate cancer
- May prevent melanoma and cause existing melanoma cells to die
- Natural liver detoxifier
- May prevent and slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease by removing plaque buildup in the brain
- May prevent metastases from occurring in many different forms of cancer
- May aid in fat metabolism and help in weight management
- Used in Chinese medicine as a treatment for depression
- Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it is a natural treatment for arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Lastly you should always use black pepper in some form with turmeric to make it bioavailable for your body to use more effectively
