I have used this recipe so many times. It literally is spoon-able from the jar, though you didn't hear that from me. One of the stock standard pantry items you should be on top of, pimp your pantry and get this in there. You will find so many uses for it from Smoky BBQ Pork Ribs to Spicy Oat Burgers to even adding it to things like Chunky Bolognaise Sauce for an added umami hit.

- 1 small carrot, cut in pieces
- 1 red onion, halved
- 4 cloves garlic
- 40 Grams butter
- 500 Grams passata sauce
- 2 Teaspoons smoked paprika
- 100 Grams coconut sugar
- 40 Grams chipotle chili in adobo sauce (tinned)
- 100 Grams tamari or soy sauce
- 20 Grams garlic powder
- 2 Teaspoons pink salt flakes BUY
- 140 Grams tomato paste
- 30 Grams balsamic vinegar

Place carrot, onion, garlic and butter into Thermomix bowl and chop 6 sec/speed 7. Cook 5 min/Varoma/speed 1 MC off.

Add remaining ingredients and blend 10 sec/speed 4.

Cook 60 min/80°C/speed 1/MC off.

Check consistency and cook longer if you like a thicker sauce. Taste for heat, add more chipotle chili and re-blend if desired. Otherwise, pour into sterilized jars and keep refrigerated between uses.
