Blender Oatey Waffles with Whey or Kefir (Gut-Friendly & Golden)

These blender oatey waffles are everything you want from a feel-good breakfast: crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and quietly doing great things for your gut. Made with whole oats and your choice of whey or kefir, they’re packed with protein and beneficial cultures, fitting perfectly into the Gut Instinct Protocol (GI) way of eating. No bowls, no mess, no overnight prep, just blitz, pour, cook and enjoy a waffle that loves you back. Perfect for slow weekends, batch cooking, or a freezer stash for busy mornings.

We have had some frozen for ages now and they pop into the toaster and reheat perfectly.

Topping suggestions

Fresh berries and a dollop of thick kefir or Greek-style yoghurt
Fermented honey or raw honey with a drizzle of melted butter
Stewed apples or pears with cinnamon and a spoonful of kefir cream
Ricotta or labneh with lemon zest and a splash of maple syrup
Banana slices, toasted nuts and a swipe of cultured butter
Roasted stone fruit with vanilla and a spoon of whey caramel sauce
Smoked salmon, crème fraîche or kefir cream and fresh dill
Avocado, soft herbs and a squeeze of lemon for a savoury GI-friendly waffle
Peanut or almond butter with a drizzle of honey and flaky salt
Dark chocolate shavings with warm berries for a weekend treat

Preheat waffle maker.

Place oats, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in the Thermomix bowl. Blend 1 min/speed 8. Scrape bowl and repeat.

Add eggs, maple syrup and kefir. Combine 1 min/speed 8. Add butter and continue 1 min/speed 8.

Pour batter into waffle maker. Cook until starting to brown.

Serve with butter and maple syrup or any of your favourite toppings.
