Quick Fig Jam
Fig jam is not my favourite, but this is pretty good if I say so myself. It was created for a cookie recipe that we have coming up, stay tuned!
To me fig jam has always been a bit overrated. It is usually too sweet, as figs are plenty sweet enough themselves without adding heaps of sugar.
Then there is the multitude of seeds to contend with. I know we have seeds in other jams, raspberry of course, and then the chia jam is chock full of seediness...but it sort of has put me off. I have to admit, this worked out pretty well and was not too sweet by design, but there is no escaping those seeds. Oh well, let's see where this jam ends up...could be the Fig Newtons are going to me my new favourite cookie of choice!
The jam is perfect for gifting...dried figs are not seasonal, so if you have some fans in your circle, they will love this. (Add more brandy if you must!! Makes everything taste good!)
