The Foolproof Thermomix Chocolate Melting Hack You’ll Use Again and Again

Melting chocolate in the Thermomix sounds simple, until you try it with a small amount and it ends up splattered around the bowl, clinging to the blades, or worse, overheated and unusable. If you've been there (and let's face it, most of us have), this quick and clever method is about to change the game. It’s the easiest way to get smooth, perfectly melted chocolate using your Thermomix, no double boiler, no waste, no stress. Whether you're baking, drizzling, or dipping, this hack saves time, saves chocolate (and money!), and gives you consistent results every time. If you are concerned about the use of plastic, go ahead and use a silicone piping bag. Just tie the open tip end or clip it so that steam does not get inside the chocolate.

Ways to Use a Small Amount of Melted Chocolate:

Drizzle Over Cakes or Slices

Perfect for a professional-looking finish on brownies, banana bread, or almond dacquoise.

Dip Strawberries or Other Fruit

Quick and elegant for dessert boards or a simple sweet snack.

Decorate Biscuits or Cookies

Add a chocolate drizzle or pattern to elevate homemade cookies.

Top Ice Cream or Sorbet

Pour over cold desserts for that instant chocolate shell effect.

Chocolate-Dipped Pretzels or Nuts

Sweet and salty snacks made in minutes.

Add to a Hot Chocolate

Stir a spoonful into milk for an ultra-rich version.

Make Quick Chocolate Bark

Spread on baking paper, top with nuts, fruit, or coconut, and let it set.

Line Tart Shells or Sandwich Macarons

A thin layer of chocolate to keep crusts crisp or add flavour contrast.

Homemade Chocolate Curls or Shards

Spread, chill, and scrape for elegant dessert toppers.

Bind Energy Balls or Bars

Mix into homemade bliss balls or granola bars for extra decadence.

Dip Homemade Marshmallows or Honeycomb

Just a touch of chocolate takes them next-level.

Finish Pancakes or Waffles

A decadent brunch upgrade

Need

  • 100-200 Grams chocolate in callets or pieces BUY
  • 700 Grams water for steaming

Do

1

Place 100-200g of chocolate chips/callets/pieces into a ziplock bag.

2

Add enough water to the Thermomix bowl so that it won’t touch the base of the simmering basket.

3

Place the bag of chocolate into the simmering basket.

4

Heat 6 min/Varoma/speed 1.

5

Voila! If you use 100g or above, leave the lid on for a few more minutes after the heating function has finished.

6

Massage the bag if there are any still unmelted pieces.

7

Push to the corner of the bag, (I love a pastry scraper for this job) give it a little snip and you are ready to go!

8

Use as needed for any project requiring a small amount of melted chocolate.
