I have always been a sucker for the yin/yang, salty/sweet, snack at Christmas. I do remember as a child having nuts at Christmas as a treat. Now my life is one big edible treat….which actually is not a good thing for my waistline, but good for you, as I have a high flavour expectation at all times. Hoping you already know that…

There has been a massive jump in site visits….thanks guys, glad you love my work. Merry Christmix to you too!! So back to the nuttiness of Festive Frenzy.

These are amazing. Off the charts amazing. Thinking you will be making these more than once. I made the batch on Sunday for the pic, went and had a wee nap, came out and they were demolished. (Note to self; hide some in the veggie drawer before napping!) They'll never look there…you might want to remember that!

Need

Do

1

Place all nuts on lined baking tray that is big enough to spread them out. Place into cold oven set to 200ºC and cook 8 minutes. Remove from oven and whilst still warm, mix with pretzels and sprinkle generously with salt. Allow to cool.

2

Place all remaining ingredients except egg white and chocolates into Thermomix bowl and cook 5 min/Varoma/speed 2.

3

Beat egg white with a balloon whisk or other means. (I know…shock, horror.) You can beat in Thermomix, but you may need to beat more than one to get any luck!

4

Add beaten egg white to Thermomix bowl and blend 5 sec/speed 6.

5

Pour over nuts and pretzels. Stir to coat evenly. Return to the oven for 8 minutes. When you remove them from the oven, stir to break apart, you may need to use two trays to have them be separate. The nut mixture will harden as it cools.

6

Stir through Chocolates of choice once the mixture is fully cold and serve.

7

Store in the fridge until you serve. It will keep for several months.
