Cheesy Vegemite Scrolls
Get ready to enjoy a true Aussie favorite with a twist—Cheesy Vegemite Scrolls made with puff pastry in your Thermomix! These savoury scrolls are the perfect balance of flaky, buttery pastry, umami rich ThermoMite or Thermomix Vegemite or purchased Vegemite, and gooey melted cheese. They’re a hit for lunch boxes, quick snacks, or a party platter that everyone will love. Making your own puff pastry adds an extra layer of deliciousness, and your Thermomix makes the whole process easier and faster. Let's dive in and make these irresistibly cheesy scrolls from scratch!
I did cheat (if you watch the video) because I just LOVE Empire puff pastry and had some handy. If you haven't tried it yet, time to get on board. Otherwise, our puff pastry recipe is really excellent, if you have a couple of hours handy.
You could also replace the pastry with either scone dough or yeasted dough. Cooking time with increase for these doughs potentially.
Try some of our other pastries on for size, they are very good!

- 1 Batch Puff Pastry or 1 roll Empire commercial puff pastry Recipe
- 2-3 Tablespoons ThermoMite (or good ole vegemite!) Recipe
- 1 eggs for egg wash
Do
- 1
Preheat oven to 180°C and line a baking sheet with paper. Set aside.

Place cheese into the Thermomix bowl and mill 5 sec/speed 10.
- 3
Lay pastry on a silpat mat and spread the ThermoMite or vegemite across evenly and quite liberally.

Sprinkle with the milled cheese and roll up lengthways into a long roll.

Serve hot or cold.
