Combined with all the other ingredients you have a very lush chocolate smoothie, packed with protein, antioxidants and minerals, designed to make you feel as though you ate dessert, but it was actually breakfast! Enjoy!

BENEFITS:

Brew Choc (cacao); There are over 300 nutrients and compounds in cacao, which is why it is considered one of the most chemically complex foods on the planet. The more I learn about chocolate the more I realise I have to learn. It is fascinating stuff. For all the info on the health benefits of cacao head over to this fascinating article.

Medjool dates; boast several antioxidants, which can protect your cells from oxidative damage that can lead to diseases like cancer, heart disease, and brain ailments. They also add a luscious caramel sweetness to our smoothie.

Maca Powder; People in Peru have used maca for thousands of years as food and a natural medicine. It has become popular worldwide in the past few decades, particularly for its uses for fertility and libido. (So don't have too much...just saying!)

Peanut Butter; may promote weight maintenance, fullness, and reduced appetite. While its calories mostly come from fat, peanut butter fats are healthy. It’s also full of other important nutrients, including protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Need

Do

1

Pre-whip the coconut cream if using. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

2

Pit the dates and soak them in a little hot water for a minute or two.

3

Place all ingredients into the Thermomix bowl and blend 2 min/speed 8. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl and lid as necessary.

4

Serve with any garnishes of your choice; we used cacao nibs, homemade granola, drizzle of honey, flaked coconut, whipped coconut cream and red berries.

5

If you are using a Nutribullet, place all of the heavy items (frozen fruit etc) into the bottom (which then becomes the top once inserted onto the base) finishing up with the leafy items so they are down near the blades initially. Blend as long as needed to combine. Never more than 1 minute.
