I am so against gadgets it isn't even funny. I think I relented back in the day when I had no Thermomix and got a breadmaker. I did have 5 hungry kidlets who ate me out of house and home constantly...so between a breadmaker and slow cooker, I was set. Then I got a Thermomix and of course that made me even more retentive about not owning random appliances. SO...Kitchenwarehouse and I were having discussions during the pandemic situation about how to keep everyone engaged and of course, cooking!
Would I be prepared to do a LIVE video using an appliance other than Thermomix?
Yes I would. My fate was sealed. The AirFryer arrived. I don't live in a complete bubble. I was a little bit curious. We made chips. Meh.
We made pork belly. Crispy pork belly. Delicious pork belly. IN 35 minutes! I was sold. I have a great pork belly recipe. You would know that if you follow me at all. But it does take literally hours and some careful watching. It is a labour of love. And although the AirFryer can really only do small pieces at a time, the speed and the crunchiness of the crackle is a thing of beauty.
SO...I hope to be keeping said AirFryer...just for the pork on my fork. Stay tuned. There maybe more amazing things to discover.
In the meantime, here is the easiest (quickest) version Crispy Pork Belly ever!
