I do have another recipe on here for Baked Beans, literally, as in BAKED, and they are delicious, but they do take a loooong time. These are much more effective time wise for busy families. I do like a little heat in my beans, and it is perfectly ok to add some chipotles in adobo sauce to this recipe if that is your thing too. (Or chopped salami or similar!)
I think serving these with our fantastic Lazy Sourdough Loaf and lashings of butter is about as good as it gets for homemade comfort food!

Need
- 1 brown onion peeled and quartered
- 4 cloves garlic
- 20 Grams Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) BUY
- 2 Teaspoons smoked paprika
- 100 Grams pure maple syrup
- 3 x 400g Tins cannellini beans, drained
- 2 x 400g Tins crushed tomatoes
- 100 Grams tomato paste
- big Pinches pink salt flakes BUY
- black pepper to taste
Do
- 1
Place onion, garlic and EVOO into the Thermomix bowl. Chop 5 sec/speed 6. Saute 5 min/Varoma/speed 1.

Insert Butterfly and add remaining ingredients. Cook 20 min/100°C/Butterfly/Reverse/speed soft.

Serve hot with freshly buttered toast, eggs and bacon for breakfast, or, serve alongside good ole Texas ribs as an accompaniment.
