Fried Tortilla Strips
When you need that crunch, or a dipper for something spicy or creamy or both (think guac!) then these are your go to. You made them yourself! WOW!
These little gems are a breeze to make. They are found most often in Mexican-inspired dishes but they add a bit of crunch to literally anything! Use any type of tortillas you like. If you are ambitious and want to make your own tortillas, we have many recipes for flavoured varieties. Otherwise, store-bought is perfectly fine.
Serve them with smashed avocado, salsas of choice (of which we also have many many options on this site!) or with a soup or on the side of any other Mexican fare. YUM!

Need
- 2-3 Tortillas of choice (commercial ones also work well) Recipe
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) for frying BUY
- pink salt flakes to taste BUY

Cut the tortillas into strips or desired shapes while you heat the oil in a small saucepan to 170°C. Do not allow the temperature of the oil to go above 180°C.

Fry in small batches, sprinkle with salt and drain on a paper towel.
