Macadamia Nut Milk

Makes 1.4L Prep Time 5 minutes   Rated:

Macadamias are a delicious and highly nutritious nut that offer numerous health benefits. Not only are they rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, which can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease, but they also contain a variety of important vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B1, magnesium, and manganese. Additionally, macadamias are a good source of fiber, which can help regulate digestion and promote feelings of fullness. Research has also suggested that eating macadamias may help improve brain function and support overall cognitive health.

With that in mind, and having just recently added a nut milk bag to my store, this was always on the agenda. PLUS we love our Macadamias Australia, so much so, that we partner with them often on the Insider Club. (thanks guys)

Whether enjoyed as a snack, added to baked goods, or used as a topping for salads, macadamias are a versatile and tasty addition to any diet.

(Oh, and the milk is fantastic in every way that you would use dairy milk...so far. Testing is still in progress for literally everything, and it tastes great as a drink too. Pass the cookies.)

Need

Do

1

Place the macadamias, 500g water, salt, vanilla and honey if using into the Thermomix bowl and blend 2 min/speed 10.

2

You can strain the nut milk using a nut milk bag at this stage, but I don't. It is really quite palatable as macadamias are very soft.

3

Add another 500g cold water and blend 10 sec/speed 10. Serve over ice or chill completely before using.

4

It will separate on standing, but simply give it a good shake. It will last up to one week in the fridge if stored in a sterilised jar.
