The most famous strawberry jam yet, with heaps of cheap copies around the Thermomix world. This is the original and the best.

Homemade strawberry jam is a delightful way to capture the sweetness of summer, especially when infused with the aromatic warmth of vanilla. The combination of ripe, juicy strawberries and the subtle, fragrant notes of vanilla creates a preserve that is as indulgent as it is versatile.

This recipe is one of my OG recipes, because with the Thermomix, making this irresistible jam is a breeze—simply toss in the ingredients, let the machine handle the cooking and stirring, and enjoy perfect, consistent results every time. No fuss, no constant attention, just pure homemade goodness that’s ready to spread on toast, swirl into yogurt, or elevate your desserts to the next level.

We use this recipe a lot throughout the site, but here are a few ideas on ways to use it up...if that is an issue for you.

Classic Breakfast: Spread generously on warm toast, crumpets, or croissants for a cosy start to the day.

Pancakes & Waffles: Drizzle over fluffy pancakes or crispy waffles, paired with whipped cream or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

Yogurt Parfait: Layer with creamy pot set yogurt and granola for a vibrant and nutritious snack.

Ice Cream Topping: Use as a sweet and fruity topping for vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

Cheese Platter: Serve as a condiment alongside soft cheeses like brie or cream cheese for a sophisticated pairing.

Cake Filling: Spread between cake layers or use as a topping for cheesecakes and tarts.

Homemade Pop Tarts: Fill pastry pockets with the jam for a fun, nostalgic treat.

Thumbprint Cookies: Spoon into the center of thumbprint cookies before baking for a delightful burst of flavor.

PB&J Upgrade: Elevate a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich with this luxurious jam.

Mocktail Mixer: Stir into sparkling water or lemonade for a fruity twist on your favorite drinks.

Gifting: Jar the jam with a ribbon for a heartfelt, homemade gift.

This jam's versatility will inspire countless delicious creations!

Need

  • 400 Grams strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 200 Grams sugar
  • 1 green apple, sliced with skin on
  • 1 vanilla bean, cut into pieces

Do

1

Place all ingredients into Thermomix bowl and cook 25-35 min/Varoma/speed 1 with simmering basket on top of lid in place of the MC (cooking time will vary depending on whether you are using fresh or frozen strawberries).

2

Check the consistency of the jam by placing a spoonful onto a cold plate. If it wrinkles up when pushed, the jam is ready. If not, cook 10 min/Varoma/speed 1 at a time and check after each time period, up to 30 minutes more, until it has reached the consistency that you like. (This is an edit; please see comments below.)

3

Pour into sterilised jar and allow to cool before serving.
