Oat crackers are traditional Christmas fare and well overdue on this site. I made some years ago which now appear on Cookidoo. This is not them!

We love these for gifting! They pair well with just about everything you can think of and we especially love them combined with Savoury Potted Cheese which is also part of our Advent Calendar Gift Cookbook. If you don't have it yet, make sure you join the Insider Club before Christmas to get your copy for free!

We take recipe requests on occasion and this recipe was requested by one of our Insiders, Rebecca. Thanks to her, you now have this amazing new recipe to add to your cracker collection...we do love our crackers on this site. Save money on expensive store bought oat crackers in teensy packets and make a huge batch of these. YUM!

Then go and try some of our many other cracker recipes. We are thinking an ebook may be in order!

Do

1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 2 oven trays with baking paper.

2

Place butter, water, salt and sugar into the Thermomix bowl. Heat 3 min/90°C/speed 3.

3

Add oats and pecans. Combine 6 sec/speed 6. Continue if pecans haven't chopped enough.

4

Tip out dough onto a silpat mat. Bring together to form a ball.

5

Place the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper, roll out as thinly as possible. Using a pizza cutter or scone cutter, cut dough into desired shapes.

6

Sprinkle generously with pink salt flakes and gently roll over with rolling pin to help the salt adhere.

7

Place crackers on to the prepared trays and bake for 15-18 minutes until just starting to brown.

8

Serve on a cheeseboard or grazing platter.
