Patatas bravas is a popular Spanish tapas dish consisting of crispy fried potato cubes. They are typically served with a spicy tomato-based sauce and often accompanied by aioli or mayonnaise for a contrasting flavor. The dish is known for its bold and savory flavors, making it a favorite in Spanish cuisine. This has the addition of steak to 'beef' it up (pardon the pun) and make it a full meal.

We smashed this in no time flat, you can of course go larger if required, and we think you should! I think it would make the perfect dish for entertaining...but you should give your guests some small plates and a fork to be more elegant than just scraping it up by hand.

Need

Do

1

Premake the Spicy Tomato sauce, Salsa Verde and the aioli.

2

Cook the potatoes as per instructions.

3

Salt and pepper the steaks and allow to rest at room temperature for about an hour.

4

Cook in a very hot pan drizzled with EVOO, just 4 minutes each side. Rest.

5

Spread the sauce over a serving platter, add potatoes, sliced steak, dollops of aioli, a good drizzle of Salsa Verde and then finish off with the fresh herbs. Serve immediately. This is great as a starter platter for guests, if not a little messy.

6

You can pre-make all the components and perhaps only cook the steak right before serving.
